TripleTree’s assessment of the Managed Services sector is that since 2002 it has matured significantly and that most leaders in the sector have migrated away from facilities-based, or "co-location plus" services toward higher value services to support and a managed application environment. Whether it’s labeled "intensive hosting" or "on-demand systems infrastructure"; a few innovators now differentiate their offering around technology platform (open source) or vendor (Microsoft). This focus on delivery and client satisfaction has allowed many regional providers to compete effectively against the likes of IBM and ATT, while delivering financial growth to the top and bottom line.
