Our People
Q&A with TripleTree Founding Managing Director David Henderson:
Q: How does the firm attract and retain an exceptional team of professionals?
A: Our first three hires fourteen years ago were three young professionals straight out of business school and they are all still with us as senior members of our staff. They have helped establish a strong foundation and culture. We’ve built TripleTree as a place where people can really shine. We’ve never aimed to be the biggest investment banking firm – we aim to be the best. This focus and commitment to excellence has pushed us to be highly selective in everything that we do. Our reputation attracts the best people and our culture retains them.
Q: What type of professionals does TripleTree look for?
A: We do not have a cookie-cutter approach with our people, knowing that everyone brings a unique perspective to our engagements. We look for self-motivated people that are good communicators. They are curious and like to learn, wanting to become an expert in an area. This focus has served us well in the type of people that we’ve recruited through the years.
Q: How do you develop your team and provide pathways for career development?
A: The team-based structure and collaborative environment that we have naturally develops all of our professionals, providing constant opportunities for growth and development. Our people all know they are an important part of the team and a major contributor regardless of what level they are in the organization. Our culture encourages team members to elevate their roles and responsibilities as their capabilities merit. All team members, junior and senior alike, are continuously motivated to sharpen their skills and knowledge.
