Objectives
After working on behalf of Connextions in 2006 for a majority recapitalization, Connextions’ executive management and investors retained TripleTree in a long-term advisory capacity as a primary resource for perspectives on the changing healthcare landscape. In order to maximize valuation creation over the 3-5 year investment horizon established by New Mountain Capital, TripleTree worked side-by-side with Connextions’ management and board to advise the Company in financial and strategic decisions.
After operationalizing the long-term growth strategy, establishing an industry leading CRM technology platform, and positioning the business properly in the healthcare market, management and the board engaged TripleTree to explore an exit strategy for the business owners.
Results
TripleTree selectively engaged in discussions with a handful of strategically relevant acquirers to evaluate current market interest. After a series of high-level macro industry discussions, OptumHealth, a leading provider of health services that support individual and population health, recognized the greatest strategic synergies. Connextions analytics-driven consumer insight and service capabilities combined with OptumHealth's clinical expertise will establish a unifying platform to effectively engage the consumer. Together, the companies will build stronger consumer relationships and enhance healthcare payer-based capabilities by designing and implementing successful health insurance exchange models.
