Valor Healthcare is the largest private-sector provider of primary care services to U.S. veterans through its operation of VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).  Through contracts with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Valor provides primary care and behavioral health services via clinics located throughout the United States.  With deep rigor and expertise focused on clinical performance, Valor Healthcare routinely meets and exceeds the VA’s standards for adherence to evidence based guidelines, ultimately providing the highest quality care to U.S. veterans.  Valor Healthcare is the only contracted operator of VA CBOCs to be fully accredited by The Joint Commission.

Objectives

Valor Healthcare’s senior management team and investors selected TripleTree to evaluate opportune timing for shareholder liquidity and determine strategic options for the Company.  With a focus on meeting the rapidly increasing demand for VA healthcare service, the Company sought an acquirer that would allow Valor Healthcare to continue its reputation for high quality healthcare while enabling the company to take advantage of enormous group opportunities.

Results

After evaluating various options in the market, Humana was selected as the perfect partner for Valor Healthcare.  Humana is a recognized leader in both federal government healthcare and multi-site healthcare delivery.  The addition of Valor Healthcare to Humana’s government offerings greatly expands its presence serving the VA, while leveraging its unique resources to continue to conveniently provide the best possible care to the veterans of the U.S.
